More funding needs to be put into services providing help and support for victims of rape. Some areas of the country are well covered with support services while other areas have little or no services and many services have long waiting lists. SupportLine itself is urgently in need of funds to enable us to keep providing support for victims of abuse.

Men and boys who have been sexually assaulted or abused may have many of the same feelings and reactions as other survivors of sexual assault, but they may also face some additional challenges because of social attitudes and stereotypes about men and masculinity. This includes situations where force, violence, or weapons are used as well as situations where the victim is too intoxicated or scared to give consent.
